“Handloom sarees are woven entirely by hand on traditional looms. The minor variations in weave are the artisan's signature — proof that no other saree in the world is exactly this one.”

Color: Fuchsia
Silk Type: Matka
Loom Type: Handloom
Blouse Piece: Included
Motifs/Patterns: This saree comes in a vivid fuchsia, bold and joyful, the kind of colour that walks into a room before you do. It's built from two very different silks. The body is matka, textured and hand-spun, so you can see fine streaks and slubs running through the fuchsia that give it depth and a soft sheen. The pallu is sheer muslin silk, light and airy. Jamdani work on the border and pallu, plus jamdani-inspired pita kasab embroidery across the body, give it a quiet sparkle all over. It's made for celebrations: evening parties, brunches, lunches and festive gatherings, and it earns its place in a wedding trousseau too. You name it, this saree fits. The body is solid fuchsia matka, and its texture is clearly visible: the natural slub of hand-spun silk catches the light in uneven streaks, giving the saree real body and character. Small triangle motifs are scattered across it, worked by hand in patti kasab embroidery. Each triangle is filled with a tight zigzag of stitches, in a style inspired by jamdani butis. They're spaced evenly across the full length of the body, adding a gentle glow against the deep pink. The pallu switches to sheer muslin silk, and the change is striking. Rows of geometric jamdani motifs (groups of three triangles in a row, like arrows pointing forward) are woven across it in tested zari. Because the muslin is almost see-through, the motifs look like they're floating. Below them, broad golden bands give the pallu end extra weight and richness. The pallu finishes in handmade tassels, and the saree comes with a running blouse piece.
Border Details: The border runs along the top and bottom in a lighter, muted pink that softly frames the fuchsia. Across this pale band, jamdani motifs are woven in tested zari in a diamond-and-wave pattern, a clean, modern take on traditional jamdani. Every motif is woven by hand using the needle technique. The lighter tone keeps the bold fuchsia from feeling heavy and gives the saree a crisp, finished edge.
Special Techniques: Yarn-dyed. The fuchsia is dyed into the thread before weaving begins, not applied to the finished cloth. That's especially important here, because two very different yarns, thick hand-spun matka and fine muslin silk, both have to come out the same fuchsia. Each one takes dye differently, so matching them takes real skill before the loom is even set up. Two yarns, one saree. Matka is made from the shorter silk fibres left after the long filament is reeled from the cocoon. Those fibres are spun by hand, which gives matka its slubby, uneven texture and its structured fall. Muslin silk is the opposite: a very fine silk yarn woven into an open, airy structure, which is what makes the pallu sheer. Both fabrics share the same warp, the lengthwise threads on the loom. What changes is the weft, the crosswise thread. For the body, the weaver passes thick matka yarn across. At the pallu, they switch to fine muslin silk and weave a looser, more open structure. Picture a road that suddenly changes from gravel to glass. The weaver has to adjust how firmly each row is beaten down, or the sheer pallu will pucker, sag or pull away from the body. Getting a clean transition across the full width is done by hand, row by row. Needle jamdani on the border and pallu. The diamond motifs on the border and the triangle motifs on the pallu are woven into the cloth while it's on the loom. As each row is woven, the weaver counts the warp threads and uses a fine needle to place the tested zari only where the motif belongs, then beats the row down and moves on. There's no printing, no machine and no drawn guide; the pattern is carried in the weaver's memory. On sheer muslin there's nowhere to hide a mistake, because every motif shows from both sides of the cloth. Patti kasab embroidery on the body. The body motifs are made differently: they're embroidered by hand after the matka is woven. Marking: the finished matka fabric is stretched tight on a frame, and the triangle shapes are lightly marked at even spacing across the body. Stitching: the artisan uses a needle to fill each triangle with thread, working back and forth in a tight zigzag until the shape is complete. Repeating: every triangle across the length of the saree is stitched by hand, one at a time, with matching size, spacing and zigzag rhythm. Patti kasab is inspired by jamdani butis, but the method is different. Jamdani is woven into the fabric on the loom; patti kasab is stitched onto the finished fabric, like hand lettering on a page. Because the embroidery sits on the surface, it's best to keep jewellery and rough surfaces away from it so the threads don't catch. The zari. The zari on the border and pallu is tested zari: a silk core wrapped in metallic thread, checked for quality and consistency. It isn't real gold; "tested" refers to the verified quality of the zari. The silk core keeps it soft and flexible, so it moves easily with the light muslin pallu instead of feeling stiff or scratchy.
Season: All seasons

Care Instructions: Only dry cleaning. Never steam iron. If ironing at home, place a cotton/mulmul cloth on top of the saree and use your iron at the lowest heat setting. Our skilled artisans use natural dyes for all our handloom collection and this will protect the intricate zari work, fabric and wont harm your precious handloom. Store in a cotton bag or a muslin cloth to protect against moisture."
