“Handloom sarees are woven entirely by hand on traditional looms. The minor variations in weave are the artisan's signature — proof that no other saree in the world is exactly this one.”

Motifs/Patterns: Black has its own place in the world of sarees. Look through any tradition (Kanjivaram, Banarasi, jamdani) and you’ll always find a black, and it always stands apart. This saree is that black: deep, quiet and sure of itself, woven in sheer muslin silk that falls like a soft evening shadow. Across it, flowers bloom in pink, red, yellow, green, lilac and white, on bright blue vines, like a garden lit up at night. There’s no zari anywhere. Everything rests on silk thread and colour, and that restraint is the point. Jamdani shows that beauty doesn’t need heaviness. It feels almost weightless, looks contemporary and carries real sophistication. Walk into a room in it and the mood changes: you look polished and feel completely at ease in your own skin. It suits formal and informal occasions alike. Step into a party and you’re perfectly dressed, yet set apart from the crowd. Small flower buds are scattered across the black body in pink, red, yellow, green and white, each on a tiny blue stem. They’re spaced evenly from end to end, like petals drifting across a night sky. These small motifs give the body volume and presence, so the sheer black never looks empty. The pallu is where the garden comes into full bloom. A dense floral jaal spreads across it: blue vines branching in every direction, carrying flowers in pink, red, yellow, lilac and white, with leaves in several shades of green. Every flower is crisp and precise. It ends in fine multicoloured pinstripes and tassels, and the saree comes with a running blouse piece.
Border Details: Along the top and bottom of the saree runs a flowing lata, a creeper of jamdani flowers woven with the needle technique. Bright blue vines curl and climb, carrying blooms in pink, red, yellow and white, with green leaves between them. It covers the full length of the saree, like a garden path running along both edges.
Special Techniques: Muslin silk. Muslin is an extremely fine, open weave, the same family as the famous Bengal muslins. Here it’s woven with very fine silk yarn, which makes the fabric sheer, light and soft, with a gentle sheen. Weaving it takes a steady hand, because thread this fine breaks easily and the open structure has to stay even across the whole saree. Yarn-dyed. The black is dyed into the thread before weaving begins, not added to the finished cloth. Every thread carries its own colour, so the black stays deep and even through the sheer fabric. Needle jamdani in many colours. Every motif is woven by hand on the loom. As each row of the muslin is woven, the weaver counts the warp threads and uses a fine needle to place a coloured silk thread only where that part of the motif belongs. Then the row is beaten down and the next one begins. There’s no printing, no machine and no drawn guide; the whole design is carried in the weaver’s memory. Working with many colours makes this much harder. A single flower may need pink for the petals, yellow for the centre, green for the leaves and blue for the stem, so the weaver keeps switching threads within a tiny space, row after row. Multiply that by every flower on the borders, the body and the dense pallu, and it adds up to many weeks of slow, careful, labour-intensive work. Why it’s so demanding. On sheer muslin there’s nowhere to hide a mistake. A loose thread or a crooked petal shows from both sides of the cloth. With no zari to add sparkle, every flower has to be clean and well shaped to carry the design on its own. That patience is what gives this saree its quiet, effortless beauty.
Season: All seasons

Care Instructions: Only dry cleaning. Never steam iron. If ironing at home, place a cotton/mulmul cloth on top of the saree and use your iron at the lowest heat setting. Our skilled artisans use natural dyes for all our handloom collection and this will protect the intricate zari work, fabric and wont harm your precious handloom. Store in a cotton bag or a muslin cloth to protect against moisture."
