“Handloom sarees are woven entirely by hand on traditional looms. The minor variations in weave are the artisan's signature — proof that no other saree in the world is exactly this one.”
Color: Onion Pink
Silk Type: Resham
Loom Type: Handloom
Blouse Piece: Included
Motifs/Patterns: This saree comes in a soft onion pink, a gentle, dusty pink with a hint of lilac. It's soft without being sugary. It's woven in pure muslin silk, so the fabric is sheer and almost weightless, and it falls beautifully, settling into soft folds around the body. Across this light, airy base, jamdani flowers bloom in white, gold and the natural honey tone of muga silk. Because the muslin is so sheer, every motif looks like it's floating on the fabric, like flowers drifting on water.
It's one of those rare sarees that has no age bar. A 20-year-old can wear it to a party and look fresh, and a 70-year-old can wear it to a puja and look graceful. It works for functions, parties, pujas, gatherings, lunches and dinners, and it can be part of a wedding too.
The body carries large jamdani flower motifs, spaced generously across the onion pink. Each flower is a small composition of different yarns. The petals shine in tested zari and the natural golden tone of muga silk. The leaves are crisp white threadwork. The stems are woven in a deeper pink thread that ties each flower back to the base colour. These yarns sit side by side in every motif, so each flower has depth: a gold glow, a warm honey sheen and a bright white edge. Because the motifs are big and clearly visible, the body looks rich even though the fabric is so light.
The pallu is where the jamdani becomes grand. A flowing vine climbs and curls across it in deep pink thread, with scrolling tendrils that loop like handwriting. Along the vine bloom large flowers in white, gold and muga, with leaves in white thread. Little birds in pink and white perch among the branches. It reads like a garden scene woven into the cloth, with movement and life rather than rows of repeated motifs. The pallu ends in handmade tassels, and the saree comes with an attached blouse piece in pinstripe.
Border Details: A slim muted gold edging runs along the top and bottom of the saree. It's quiet and understated, and that's the point. On a sheer muslin saree full of floating flowers, a heavy border would weigh the fabric down and crowd the design. The soft gold line gives the saree a clean, finished edge, like the thin gilded rim on fine china, and lets the jamdani work stay the hero.
Special Techniques: The base: muslin silk. Muslin is an extremely fine, open weave, the same family as the famous Bengal muslins, which were once said to be fine enough to pass through a ring. Here it's woven with silk yarn instead of cotton. The muslin weave gives the sheerness and airiness. The silk gives the lustre, strength and graceful fall.
Yarn-dyed. The onion pink is dyed into the thread before weaving begins, not applied to the finished cloth. Every thread carries its own colour, so the shade sits evenly through the sheer fabric and stays true over time.
Three yarns in one motif. What makes these flowers special is that each one combines different yarns, each chosen for a different effect:
Tested zari brings the gold shimmer. It's a silk core wrapped in metallic thread, checked for quality and consistency. It isn't real gold; "tested" refers to the verified quality of the zari. The silk core keeps it soft, so it moves with the sheer muslin instead of weighing it down or scratching.
Muga silk brings the warm honey glow. Muga is a wild silk from Assam, and it's naturally golden: that colour comes from the silk itself, not from any dye. It's one of the rarest silks in India, and its natural sheen tends to grow richer with age and washing rather than fading.
White thread and pink thread bring the crisp leaves and the stems, birds and vines, giving the motifs clear outlines and tying them to the onion pink base.
Using several yarns in one small flower means more work at every row. The weaver has to switch between zari, muga and coloured thread inside a tiny area, each placed exactly where its part of the flower belongs.
The needle technique of jamdani. Every motif is made by hand on the loom. As each row of the sheer base is woven, the weaver counts the warp threads and uses a fine needle to insert the pattern yarn (zari, muga, white or pink) only where that part of the motif sits. Then the row is beaten down and the next one begins. There's no printing, no machine and no drawn guide on the loom. The design is carried in the weaver's memory, motif by motif.
On sheer muslin, this is especially demanding. The base is so fine and open that there's nowhere to hide a mistake: a loose thread or an uneven petal shows from both sides of the cloth. A flowing pallu like this one, with curling vines, birds and large blooms, takes many weeks of patient work at the loom. That time is really what you're paying for.
Season: All seasons
Care Instructions: Only dry cleaning. Never steam iron. If ironing at home, place a cotton/mulmul cloth on top of the saree and use your iron at the lowest heat setting. Our skilled artisans use natural dyes for all our handloom collection and this will protect the intricate zari work, fabric and wont harm your precious handloom.
Store in a cotton bag or a muslin cloth to protect against moisture."

Handloom sarees are entirely hand-woven on traditional looms by skilled artisans. Natural variations like minor thread ends, slight pattern variations, or subtle texture differences are authentic characteristics, not defects. These make each piece truly one-of-a-kind.
We photograph our sarees professionally to show accurate colors. However, slight variations may occur due to screen settings and lighting. The natural handloom process may also create subtle color variations, which add to its authenticity.
