“Handloom sarees are woven entirely by hand on traditional looms. The minor variations in weave are the artisan's signature — proof that no other saree in the world is exactly this one.”
Color: Red
Silk Type: Matka
Loom Type: Handloom
Blouse Piece: Included
Motifs/Patterns: This saree comes in a stunning, vibrant red. The body is hand-spun matka silk, so you can see fine natural streaks and slubs running through the red, which make the colour look rich and alive. At the pallu, the fabric turns into sheer muslin silk, and that’s where a whole garden comes to life: birds, flowers, fruit and branches woven in many colours. Think of it as a red canvas that ends in a painted mural.
It looks graceful and deeply sophisticated. It’s a natural choice for a bridal trousseau, and just as right for a wedding, a reception, a formal event or any auspicious celebration.
The body is solid red matka, and its hand-spun texture is clearly visible. Scattered across it are small jamdani motifs: clusters of three round fruit-like blooms on a little stem, woven in orange, peach and purple-lilac thread with tiny green leaves. They’re spaced evenly across the full length of the body, adding cheerful pops of colour against the red.
The pallu is the hero of this saree. Against the sheer muslin silk base, flowering branches spread across the fabric like a tree in full bloom. Purple birds perch and fly among the branches, surrounded by orange and peach blossoms and green leaves. The stems are woven in tested golden zari along with threadwork. Every bird, flower and leaf is made with the needle technique of jamdani, and because the muslin is so sheer, the whole scene seems to float on the fabric. It looks royal and full of life. The saree ends in tassels and comes with an attached blouse piece.
Border Details: The border is understated: a red edging with bands of fine red threadwork, running along the top and bottom of the saree. Because it’s tone-on-tone, it frames the saree quietly and lets the matka texture and the jamdani motifs stay the focus.
Special Techniques: Hand-spun matka. Matka is made from the shorter silk fibres left after the long filament has been reeled from the cocoon. These fibres are spun by hand, not by machine, which gives matka its slubby, textured surface. No two matka sarees look exactly alike.
Yarn-dyed. The red is dyed into the thread before weaving begins, not added to the finished cloth. That matters here because the thick matka yarn and the fine muslin silk yarn both have to come out the same red, and each takes dye differently.
Matka body, muslin pallu. Both parts share the same lengthwise threads on the loom. For the body, the weaver passes thick matka yarn across. At the pallu, the weaver switches to fine muslin silk and weaves a looser, open structure, which makes it sheer. The weaver adjusts how firmly each row is beaten down so the change from textured to sheer stays smooth across the full width.
Needle jamdani: birds, flowers and branches. As each row of the base is woven, the weaver counts the warp threads and uses a fine needle to place each coloured thread or zari only where the motif needs it, then beats the row down and moves on. There’s no printing and no machine; the design is carried in the weaver’s memory.
A bird is one of the hardest jamdani motifs to weave. It has a curved body, a beak, wings and a tail, often in more than one shade, and every curve has to be built row by row from straight threads. Doing that for many birds, plus every flower, leaf and branch, on sheer muslin where any mistake shows from both sides takes great precision and a lot of time. That’s why a pallu like this takes weeks at the loom, and why the finished result looks so alive.
Season: All seasons
Care Instructions: Only dry cleaning. Never steam iron. If ironing at home, place a cotton/mulmul cloth on top of the saree and use your iron at the lowest heat setting. Our skilled artisans use natural dyes for all our handloom collection and this will protect the intricate zari work, fabric and wont harm your precious handloom.
Store in a cotton bag or a muslin cloth to protect against moisture."

Handloom sarees are entirely hand-woven on traditional looms by skilled artisans. Natural variations like minor thread ends, slight pattern variations, or subtle texture differences are authentic characteristics, not defects. These make each piece truly one-of-a-kind.
We photograph our sarees professionally to show accurate colors. However, slight variations may occur due to screen settings and lighting. The natural handloom process may also create subtle color variations, which add to its authenticity.
