“Handloom sarees are woven entirely by hand on traditional looms. The minor variations in weave are the artisan's signature — proof that no other saree in the world is exactly this one.”
Color: Off White and Red
Silk Type: Mulberry
Loom Type: Handloom
Blouse Piece: Included
Motifs/Patterns: This one is quiet confidence in saree form. An off-white base scattered with the most intricate multicolour ikat work, framed by a bold, solid red border — clean, crisp, and endlessly elegant. It's the kind of saree that looks understated from across the room and reveals its detail the closer you get.
Being a Pochampalli in pure mulberry silk, it's featherlight and drapes like a dream, which also makes it perfect for summer — airy, breathable, and easy to wear through a long day without a second thought.
And it goes everywhere. Formal lunches, evening dinners, a high-stakes board meeting, everyday workwear — this is your fit. It moves from desk to dinner without missing a beat, always looking sophisticated and put-together. One saree, every room on your calendar.
The body is where the ikat sings. Set on the off-white ground, tiny fish motifs are worked in mustard yellow, blue, red, and green, marching across the whole saree in the classic tie-and-dye technique. Each little motif carries that soft, feathered ikat edge that tells you it was dyed into the thread, not printed on top. It's a one-of-a-kind piece, and it's the clearest possible showcase of just how intricate and skilled real ikat work is.
The pallu carries the same story in a panel layout — vertical bands filled with those same fish motifs in the fine tie-and-dye technique, framed against the red. It's a beautiful, structured finish to a free-flowing body. The saree comes with a blouse piece to complete the set.
Border Details: The border is a rich, solid red — a striking, saturated shade that frames the off-white base beautifully. Left plain, with no ikat pattern running through it, it does exactly what the saree needs: it anchors all the intricate colourwork in the body and draws a clean, confident line around the whole drape. Bold colour, quiet restraint, perfect balance.
Special Techniques: Ikat isn't printed and it isn't embroidered — the pattern is dyed into the threads before a single line is woven. That's what makes it special, and that's what makes it slow.
Here's the simple version. On plain fabric you weave first and add the design later. In ikat you flip that order. The weaver takes the pure mulberry silk yarn and ties tiny, tight knots at exact points along the threads — wherever a spot needs to resist the dye and stay its original colour. The yarn goes into the dye bath, only the untied sections take the colour, then it's untied, re-tied in new spots, and dyed again in the next colour — one colour at a time — until every thread carries its share of the pattern.
Those little fish are the hard part. To make a shape that fine, the weaver has to plan and tie and dye it into the yarn in advance, then line each dyed section up on the loom so the motif actually forms as the fabric grows — fish after fish, colour after colour, all by hand. A slight shift here or there gives ikat its soft, feathered edges, and that gentle blur is the signature of a genuine handwoven piece. Multiply that across a whole saree and you understand why real Pochampalli takes the time it does.
The saree carries a Silk Mark, your assurance that it's genuine, pure silk.
Season: All seasons
Care Instructions: Only dry cleaning. Never steam iron. If ironing at home, place a cotton/mulmul cloth on top of the saree and use your iron at the lowest heat setting. Our skilled artisans use natural dyes for all our handloom collection and this will protect the intricate zari work, fabric and wont harm your precious handloom.
Store in a cotton bag or a muslin cloth to protect against moisture."

Handloom sarees are entirely hand-woven on traditional looms by skilled artisans. Natural variations like minor thread ends, slight pattern variations, or subtle texture differences are authentic characteristics, not defects. These make each piece truly one-of-a-kind.
We photograph our sarees professionally to show accurate colors. However, slight variations may occur due to screen settings and lighting. The natural handloom process may also create subtle color variations, which add to its authenticity.
