“Handloom sarees are woven entirely by hand on traditional looms. The minor variations in weave are the artisan's signature — proof that no other saree in the world is exactly this one.”

Motifs/Patterns: This Kanjivaram comes in a rich chocolate brown with a soft hint of plum, set against glowing golden zari. It’s a true revival piece. The design brings back the look of old Kanjivarams, the kind you’d find folded carefully in a grandmother’s trunk and rarely see woven today. The broad multi-band border, the scattered gold flowers and the striped pallu all come from that older design language, and wearing it feels like stepping back into that time. Pure mulberry silk gives it a deep, natural lustre, and careful scouring of the silk gives it real movement: it flows and falls beautifully as you walk. It’s a perfect choice for a wedding, for family members at a reception, for parties and for pujas. The colour is warm and grounded, and the gold makes it festive without being loud. The body is a solid chocolate brown with small golden zari flower motifs woven across it in neat, evenly spaced rows. Each flower is small and precise, and against the deep brown they glow like tiny pieces of gold jewellery on dark velvet. The brown makes the gold look richer, and the gold makes the brown look deeper. That’s why the body looks so jewel-like, even with simple motifs. The pallu continues the revival design: broad bands of golden zari woven with fine floral patterns, alternating with brown panels. Inside the brown panels, larger zari flower motifs are woven in staggered rows. It mirrors the body’s flowers on a bigger scale, so the pallu and body feel like one complete design. It’s grand but balanced, the kind of pallu that looks right draped over the shoulder at a wedding. The saree comes with a running blouse piece.
Border Details: A broad border runs along the top and bottom of the saree, built from several bands of golden zari. Rows of chakra (wheel) medallions sit between bands of fine zari stripes, and small lotus motifs are woven along the edges, finished with a scalloped zari line. Layer upon layer of gold against the brown gives the border the weight and richness of an old heirloom piece. It frames the whole saree from end to end.
Special Techniques: The silk. This is a 100% handloom Kanjivaram in pure mulberry silk, in a four-ply construction: four fine silk threads twisted together into every strand before weaving. It’s like twisting four thin strands into one rope. Each is fine on its own, but together they’re strong. That’s why the saree has a rich body, holds its pleats and lasts for decades. Scouring. Raw silk is coated in a natural gum that makes it stiff and dull. Before dyeing, the yarn is gently boiled to wash that gum away. This step is called scouring, or degumming. It leaves the silk soft, lustrous and light, which is where this saree’s glow and fluid movement come from. How it’s woven. The weaver sets up thousands of lengthwise threads (the warp) on the loom, then passes the brown silk across them row by row (the weft). For every zari flower, chakra and lotus, the weaver lifts exactly the right threads and passes the golden zari through only where the motif needs it, then beats the row down and moves on. Row after row, each motif slowly appears. The border and body are woven together on the same loom, so the border is part of the saree itself, not stitched on. A revival Kanjivaram like this takes several weeks of skilled hand weaving. The zari. The zari is tested zari: a silk core wrapped in metallic thread, checked for quality and consistency. It isn’t real gold; “tested” refers to the verified quality of the zari. The silk core keeps it soft and flexible, so even the broad border and pallu drape smoothly, and it holds its glow over the years instead of tarnishing. Silk Mark. The saree carries the Silk Mark, the Government of India’s certification that it’s pure silk. It’s independent confirmation of the fabric, not just the seller’s word.
Season: All seasons

Care Instructions: Only dry cleaning. Never steam iron. If ironing at home, place a cotton/mulmul cloth on top of the saree and use your iron at the lowest heat setting. Our skilled artisans use natural dyes for all our handloom collection and this will protect the intricate zari work, fabric and wont harm your precious handloom. Store in a cotton bag or a muslin cloth to protect against moisture.
