Silk Mark certified pure silk
“Handloom sarees are woven entirely by hand on traditional looms. The minor variations in weave are the artisan's signature — proof that no other saree in the world is exactly this one.”
Color: Peacock and Icy Blue
Silk Type: Mulberry
Loom Type: Handloom
Purity: Silk mark certified
Blouse Piece: Included
Motifs/Patterns: This Kanchipuram pairs an icy blue body with a peacock blue border and pallu. The peacock blue is a true shot colour. It shifts between deep blue and green as the silk moves, exactly like the neck feathers of a peacock catching the light. Against it, the body is a cool, icy blue with a silvery glaze, as though the fabric has a thin layer of frost on it.
What makes this saree special is that it's completely zariless. There's no gold or silver thread anywhere. All the richness comes from pure mulberry silk, colour and clean weaving, which gives it a quiet, confident elegance. It's made for formal settings: a high-stakes corporate meeting, an award show, a puja, a celebration or a wedding. It says "polished" without saying "loud."
The body is a solid icy blue with a silvery sheen, with no motifs and nothing to interrupt the colour. That restraint is the design. The plain body lets the silk itself become the feature: a fine, natural texture runs through it, and the silvery glow shifts across every pleat and fold. It sits in perfect balance with the deep peacock border, a light, calm centre framed by a rich, dramatic edge. The look is clean and modern, which is why it works so well in formal settings.
The pallu returns to the peacock blue dual tone. Across it run temple-style bands: wide stripes of icy blue edged with stepped temple spires, alternating with groups of fine silvery-blue pinstripes. The result is structured, rhythmic and architectural, picking up the colours of both the body and the border so the saree finishes as one complete design. The saree comes with a contrasting blouse piece in peacock blue.
Border Details: A broad peacock blue border runs along the top and bottom of the saree, woven using the korvai technique. Its shot weave gives a constant play of blue and green, so the border seems to glow as you move. On the inner edge, a row of sharp, stepped temple spires rises from the border into the icy blue body. Because the border and body are such different shades, the spires look crisp and graphic, like a row of temple peaks against a pale sky. Without any zari, the border's beauty comes entirely from colour contrast and the precision of each spire.
Special Techniques: The silk. This is a 100% handloom Kanchipuram in pure mulberry silk, woven in four-ply construction: four fine silk threads twisted together into every strand before weaving. Think of four thin strands twisted into one rope. Each thread is fine on its own, but together they're strong. That's why a Kanchipuram has its rich body, holds its pleats well and lasts for decades.
The shot colour. The peacock blue-green and the silvery icy blue aren't printed or painted. They come from the weave itself. Threads of one shade run lengthwise (the warp) and threads of another shade run across (the weft). Because they cross at right angles, the colour you see depends on the angle of the light. That's why the border flickers between blue and green, and why the body seems to glow silver as it moves.
The korvai border. In korvai, the border and the body are woven at the same time but with separate shuttles: one carries the icy blue body thread, the other carries the peacock blue border thread. Where the two meet, the weaver interlocks them by hand on every single row, along the full length of the saree. It usually takes two weavers working together at the loom, one for the body and one for the border, moving in rhythm. The result is a border that's part of the saree's structure, not stitched on. On a genuine korvai saree, the border can never come apart from the body.
The temple spires. The spires are built right at that interlocking point. It works like building a staircase with bricks: for a few rows, the weaver lets the peacock blue step a little further into the icy blue, then a little further, then steps it back. Row by row, the steps stack into a pointed peak. Every spire is counted by hand and has to match its neighbour in height and angle along the full six yards.
Zariless, and why that's harder. Zari shines, and it can make even simple work look rich. Without it, there's nowhere to hide. Every spire edge, every pinstripe and every colour junction has to be perfectly clean, because the eye goes straight to the weaving itself. A zariless Kanchipuram that looks this polished is a sign of skilled, disciplined work at the loom.
Silk Mark. The saree carries the Silk Mark, the Government of India's certification that it's pure silk. It's independent confirmation of the fabric, not just the seller's word.
Season: All seasons
Care Instructions: Only dry cleaning. Never steam iron. If ironing at home, place a cotton/mulmul cloth on top of the saree and use your iron at the lowest heat setting. Our skilled artisans use natural dyes for all our handloom collection and this will protect the intricate zari work, fabric and wont harm your precious handloom.
Store in a cotton bag or a muslin cloth to protect against moisture.

Handloom sarees are entirely hand-woven on traditional looms by skilled artisans. Natural variations like minor thread ends, slight pattern variations, or subtle texture differences are authentic characteristics, not defects. These make each piece truly one-of-a-kind.
We photograph our sarees professionally to show accurate colors. However, slight variations may occur due to screen settings and lighting. The natural handloom process may also create subtle color variations, which add to its authenticity.
