Motifs/Patterns: A bright, luminous green body against a softer green-yellow pallu, with red threadwork and golden zari lifting the floral motifs at the end. The tissue weave is what gives this saree its character — a fine metallic thread runs through the ground fabric itself, so the whole saree carries a warm, sun-catching glow rather than sitting flat. Scattered across that glowing green are metallic sequins in silver and gold, adding small points of sparkle that catch light independently as you move.
The feel is pure muslin silk — extremely lightweight, sheer, and soft against the skin, with the tissue glow giving it just enough body to hold a pleat without ever feeling heavy.
This is a saree built for celebration. It belongs at pujas, auspicious rituals, festive gatherings, and wedding functions — bright enough to stand out, light enough to wear through a long day of festivities.
Against the green muslin silk tissue base, the tissue weave itself is the first thing you notice — a visible metallic shimmer built into the ground fabric, giving the saree what can only be described as a sun-glow finish that shifts as the drape moves.
Layered over that glowing ground are metal sequins in silver and gold, scattered across the body from one border to the other. Individually small, they add a steady, low-key sparkle across the whole length of the saree without ever overwhelming the green.
The pallu is the head-turner.
It sits in a lighter tone — a green-yellow blend, softer than the vivid green of the body — and carries sequin work throughout, in the same silver and gold. Over that base, jamdani motifs are worked using the traditional needle technique: floral forms in golden zari and red threadwork, covering the pallu in a dense, layered floral spread.
The pallu closes with bands of red, and the saree ends in hand-knotted tassels.
The saree comes with a blouse piece in a contrasting shade.
Border Details: The border carries a golden zari edging running along the top and bottom of the saree, with metal sequins in silver and gold woven closely alongside it.
This concentrated sequin work at the border edge is deliberate — it gives the border a defined, sparkling line that frames the green body clearly, distinct in density from the more scattered sequin placement across the rest of the saree.
Special Techniques: The fabric — muslin silk. "Muslin silk" isn't a single fibre, it's a construction: a muslin weave — an extremely fine, high-count, low-density weave, the same family as the famous Bengal muslins — worked using resham, or silk yarn, instead of cotton. That combination is what gives this saree its two defining qualities at once: the sheerness and airiness come from the muslin weave itself, and the lustre, drape, and strength come from the resham. A cotton muslin would be flat and matte by comparison; resham is what makes it glow and fall the way this saree does.
The tissue weave. Tissue is a separate technique layered onto that resham-muslin base. A fine metallic thread — here in gold — is woven directly into the ground fabric alongside the resham, typically run through the weft on every pick or at close, regular intervals. Because the metallic thread is part of the actual weave structure and not an addition on top of it, the shimmer comes from within the cloth. That's the technical reason this saree has that particular sun-glow quality: light isn't bouncing off a surface treatment, it's being caught by metal thread interlaced through the sheer resham-muslin ground itself.
Yarn dyed. The green of the body and the softer green-yellow of the pallu are two separately dyed tones, dyed before weaving rather than the finished cloth after — which is why the colour transition between body and pallu reads as a deliberate shift in depth rather than a fade.
The zari. The golden zari used in the pallu motifs is tested zari — real metallic thread wound onto a silk core, not the flat plastic film used in imitation work. That's why the gold in the floral motifs glows softly rather than glittering flat, in the same way the tissue weave does across the rest of the saree.
The needle technique of jamdani. Every floral motif on the pallu is built by hand with a needle — no printing, no machine embroidery. After each row of ground weft, the weaver counts the warp threads and inserts the golden zari or red thread by hand exactly where the design calls for it, then beats the row down and moves on. Working from memory, one motif at a time, until the flowers cover the full pallu.
The sequin work. Applied separately from both the tissue weave and the jamdani motifs, the sequins are fixed to the finished fabric by hand at points across the body and pallu, in alternating silver and gold — the one element on this saree that's added after weaving rather than built into it.
