“Handloom sarees are woven entirely by hand on traditional looms. The minor variations in weave are the artisan's signature — proof that no other saree in the world is exactly this one.”
Color: Light Brown & Navy Blue
Loom Type: Handloom
Blouse Piece: Included
Motifs/Patterns: This is a 100% handloom pure matka silk with Resham weave, in a beautiful clay-mud tone — a warm, earthy shade that sits somewhere between taupe, sand and old gold, shifting as the light moves across it. Against that grounded warmth sits deep navy blue, and the pairing is what makes this saree so quietly luxurious. Earth and midnight, together.
The matka and Resham combination is the real story in the hand. Matka brings its raw, slubbed texture; Resham brings softness and flow. Together they give the saree a fluid, liquid drape that catches light in long, uneven ribbons as you move. It is serene to look at and lovely to wear — genuinely the definition of understated elegance.
This one goes almost everywhere: workwear, high-stakes meetings, award functions, ceremonies at home, morning pujas. It slips just as easily into catching up with friends over brunch, lunch or dinner, or any gathering at home. Sophisticated without effort, and never overdressed.
The body is pure matka silk with Resham weaving, in that lovely mud tone, and it does something clever: the warmth of the base makes the navy read deeper and richer than it would on its own. Scattered across the entire body are small flower motifs — buti — woven in navy blue and white threadwork, alternating across the length of the saree. They're placed at even intervals, small and precise, so the body stays calm and textured while still carrying detail everywhere you look. Against the slubbed matka ground, each buti sits crisp and clean.
The pallu is the masterpiece. On a deep navy base, large lata motifs — flowering vines with full, curling leaves — unfurl in alternating rows of white and mud-toned threadwork, so the design shifts colour as it moves down the pallu. Framing them on both sides are ornate vertical bands: fine floral scrollwork, rows of tiny triangles, and delicate creeper patterns, layered one beside the other in white and gold tones. Between the motifs sit small floral buti, filling the navy field. Bands close the design at both ends, and the saree finishes with hand-knotted tassels. It comes with a contrast blouse piece.
Border Details: The border is a single, beautifully judged element: fine golden zari edging running along both the top and bottom of the saree. That's all — and that's exactly right. With a body this textured and a pallu this rich, a broad ornamental border would have fought for attention. Instead, this slim gold line traces the length of the drape, lifting the mud tone with a warm glint at either edge and giving the whole saree a finished, deliberate frame. Restraint used well is its own kind of luxury.
Special Techniques: This is a 100% handloom pure matka silk with Resham weave, and it carries the Silk Mark — your assurance of genuine silk. It is also yarn-dyed: every thread is dyed before weaving begins, which is why both the mud tone and the navy sit deep and even, look identical on both sides, and hold their colour for years rather than fading like surface-dyed cloth.
Weaving matka with Resham is the first challenge. Matka yarn is thick, irregular and slubbed; Resham is fine, smooth and slippery. The two behave completely differently under tension, and the weaver must adjust constantly to keep the cloth even. Get it right and you get exactly this — matka's texture with Resham's fluidity in a single fabric.
The Jamdani work here is executed through the Banarasi weaving technique. Where Bengal Jamdani builds motifs with a needle-like stick on a fine ground, the Banarasi approach uses extra weft threads carried on separate small shuttles, worked motif by motif into the weave as the cloth grows. Each buti in the body, each lata in the pallu, is built by hand this way — no printed pattern, no shortcut.
The pallu is where that labour concentrates. Multiple colours across the motifs, layered ornamental bands, and a dense navy ground where every misplaced thread would show — all of it counted and aligned across the full width. Work at this level takes weeks on the loom, and it shows in every inch.
Season: All seasons
Care Instructions: Only dry cleaning. Never steam iron. If ironing at home, place a cotton/mulmul cloth on top of the saree and use your iron at the lowest heat setting. Our skilled artisans use natural dyes for all our handloom collection and this will protect the intricate zari work, fabric and wont harm your precious handloom.
Store in a cotton bag or a muslin cloth to protect against moisture."

Handloom sarees are entirely hand-woven on traditional looms by skilled artisans. Natural variations like minor thread ends, slight pattern variations, or subtle texture differences are authentic characteristics, not defects. These make each piece truly one-of-a-kind.
We photograph our sarees professionally to show accurate colors. However, slight variations may occur due to screen settings and lighting. The natural handloom process may also create subtle color variations, which add to its authenticity.
