Motifs/Patterns: This is a light olive muslin jamdani in a 120-count weave, set against crisp white threadwork. The olive and white play off each other beautifully — the white motifs lift cleanly off the soft olive base, so the contrast does a lot of the work. At 120 counts, the fabric is feather-light and breathable, which makes it a true summer saree. If you're a working woman — corporate desk, hospital floor, classroom — this slips into your day without effort. Brunch, a lunch meeting, a quick evening errand: it's simple, formal, and just does the job.
The body is scattered with small Jamdani booties woven throughout. They fill the saree out nicely, giving it a fuller, more finished look rather than leaving the base bare.
The pallu is where it gets rich. It has pinstripe bands in white thread paired with a floral vine pattern, and the same booties carry through. It reads pretty and elegant, stands out, and pulls out that light olive sheen really well.

Border Details: The border runs along both the top and bottom edges of the saree, worked entirely in white thread. It carries a delicate floral pattern done in the Jamdani needle technique — fine, deliberate, and clean against the olive.

While that's happening, the weaver adds extra thread by hand, motif by motif, using a fine needle to insert each design directly into the cloth as it's being made. The pattern isn't printed or embroidered on later; it's born inside the weave itself. That's why it's slow and skilled work.
Cotton vs. Muslin Jamdani — the quick difference
Both use the same hand-needle Jamdani method. The difference is the yarn. A cotton jamdani uses a thicker, lower-count cotton thread — sturdier, a bit heavier, more everyday. A muslin jamdani uses an ultra-fine, high-count yarn (like this 120-count), which makes the fabric far thinner, softer, and more airy. Same craft, finer raw material.
Why 120-count muslin is expensive
The yarn is so fine and the hand-needle work so painstaking that it takes far more skill, time, and labor to weave — that's what drives the price.
