The pallu is pure tissue and absolutely stunning. It carries a beautiful chevron design woven entirely in zari, creating sharp diagonal lines that catch the light from every angle. As the saree moves, the chevron pattern shifts and shimmers, almost like ripples of metal flowing across the fabric. It is structured, modern, and rich all at once, the kind of pallu that becomes the center of attention.
Border Details: A sleek fuchsia pink edging runs along the top and bottom of the saree, framing the dual-tone body like a clean ribbon line. Special Techniques: This is a pure handloom linen tissue saree, woven entirely by hand on a traditional loom. Linen tissue is one of the trickier weaves because it combines linen yarn with fine zari thread to create that signature glow. Linen is a stiff, breakable yarn, and zari is delicate, so balancing the two on a handloom takes real skill and patience. The result is a fabric that is light and breathable like linen, yet rich and luminous like tissue.
The saree is yarn-dyed, which means the threads are dyed in fuchsia pink and orange before weaving begins. This locks the color deep into each thread, giving the dual tone its richness and ensuring it does not fade or sit on the surface like a print would.
The motifs on the first half of the body are done using the jamdani needle technique, where the weaver inserts each design by hand directly onto the loom while the base fabric is being woven. There is no embroidery and no machine, just the weaver carefully building each motif thread by thread using fine zari. The pallu, on the other hand, is pure tissue, and the chevron design is woven directly onto this tissue base using zari threads. Creating sharp, clean chevron lines on tissue is highly intricate work because the zari has to be guided in precise diagonal angles across a fabric that already shimmers, so any small mistake shows up immediately. This is why the pallu looks so structured and rich. The zari used throughout the saree is tested zari, meaning the metal content has been verified for quality so the shine stays bright and does not blacken or dull over time.
