“Handloom sarees are woven entirely by hand on traditional looms. The minor variations in weave are the artisan's signature — proof that no other saree in the world is exactly this one.”
Color: Magenta and Khaki
Loom Type: Handloom
Blouse Piece: Included
Motifs/Patterns: This is a 100% handloom pure matka silk saree in a vibrant magenta set against a soft khaki — and it's the contrast that makes this one unforgettable. Magenta on its own can be loud; paired with a muted khaki, it becomes something else entirely: rich, poised, and genuinely elegant. Matka silk's raw, slubbed texture catches the light unevenly, so the magenta shifts between deep fuchsia and glowing pink as you move, while the khaki holds it all steady.
This is a saree meant to stand out — but with sophistication, never noise. It carries beautifully into any formal setting: wear it to work, to a high-stakes award evening, to a puja at home, to lunches and dinners. Wherever you take it, it does the job quietly and completely. You walk in, and the saree has already spoken for you.
The body is magenta contrasted with khaki, and this is where the design gets clever. Temple motifs — those classic pointed spires — appear here, but not where you'd expect them. Instead of sitting neatly along the border, they rise directly out of the khaki into the magenta field, interlocking like a skyline. It's a thoroughly contemporary reading of a traditional temple design, and the effect is striking: two solid colours meeting in sharp, deliberate points, with no outline, no shading, just clean colour against clean colour.
The pallu carries the temple design at full scale. Khaki covers the entire pallu, and along its edge the temple spires reach up into the magenta in a long row of interlocking peaks. Against the deep pink, the muted khaki reads almost silver in certain light, which is what makes the contrast sit so beautifully rather than clash. The saree finishes with hand-knotted tassels, and comes with a contrasting khaki blouse piece woven with pinstripes.
Border Details: The border runs along the top and bottom in a dual shade of golden zari, and it's a perfectly judged pairing. Gold against magenta doesn't fight — it warms. Those fine gold rails give the saree definition and just enough shine to lift the deep colour, so the magenta never overpowers the drape. Instead, the border supports it, framing all that vibrancy with a soft glow at the edges. Simple, balanced, and exactly what a colour this strong needs.
Special Techniques: This is a 100% handloom pure matka silk saree, and it carries the Silk Mark — your assurance of genuine silk. It is also yarn-dyed: every thread takes its colour before weaving begins, which is why the magenta and khaki both sit deep and even, look identical on both sides, and hold their tone for years rather than fading the way surface-dyed fabric does.
The weaving technique here is cut shuttle — and this is what makes the saree what it is. In ordinary weaving, a single shuttle carries one weft thread all the way across the width of the fabric. In cut shuttle, the weaver uses separate shuttles for separate colours. Each shuttle travels only as far as its colour is meant to go, then the thread is cut and hand-interlocked with the neighbouring colour before the next shuttle takes over.
That interlocking is the whole difficulty. It happens by hand, at every colour junction, on every single pick — thousands of times across one saree. The join must be tight enough that no gap opens between the colours, and precise enough that the shape stays true row after row. There is no machine version of this and no shortcut.
It is also why cut shuttle is used for exactly this kind of design: bold, solid blocks of contrasting colour meeting in sharp shapes — temple spires, geometric interlocks, strong two-tone compositions. Any other technique would have to float or shade the colour transition. Cut shuttle gives you a clean edge, with each colour fully solid right up to the join, and the same crisp result on both sides of the fabric.
All of that takes time. A cut shuttle saree spends far longer on the loom than a conventional one, and demands a weaver skilled enough to keep tension, alignment and shape consistent through every interlock. That labour is what you're paying for — and what you can see the moment the pallu catches the light.
Season: All seasons
Care Instructions: Only dry cleaning. Never steam iron. If ironing at home, place a cotton/mulmul cloth on top of the saree and use your iron at the lowest heat setting. Our skilled artisans use natural dyes for all our handloom collection and this will protect the intricate zari work, fabric and wont harm your precious handloom.
Store in a cotton bag or a muslin cloth to protect against moisture."

Handloom sarees are entirely hand-woven on traditional looms by skilled artisans. Natural variations like minor thread ends, slight pattern variations, or subtle texture differences are authentic characteristics, not defects. These make each piece truly one-of-a-kind.
We photograph our sarees professionally to show accurate colors. However, slight variations may occur due to screen settings and lighting. The natural handloom process may also create subtle color variations, which add to its authenticity.
